I'm Back!!!

Well after a long and very busy summer, I'm back to my blogging. I've only just been able to find time to craft recently, but unfortionately had no time to blog, so I have lots to post about in the next few weeks. I've recently been focusing on card-making, getting ready for Christmas in particular, but this week I'm going to start making some little felt decorations too, yes thats right I've caught the sewing bug!

Although busy, I have managed to fit in a couple of craft shows.... I went to Alexandra Palace for the The Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show on 25th September. I came away with some fabulous papers, cardblanks, foam tape,  embellishments and a lovely little elephant template which I've used so much already. Then on 3rd October we went to Hatfield house for the Rock Gem 'n' Bead show, I got some lovely gemstones which I intend to wrap in wire cages as pendants for my necklaces, and earings.

My jewellery making has been great through the summer as I've been able to squeeze in half an hour here and there without having to unpack lots of craft things, I enjoyed sitting in the garden for a while after work creating beaded gifts for people, while trying (and failing) to get a summer tan.

Buttons are also high on my agenda this month. I'm intending to try out some button covered favour boxes for my wedding with some little boxes I brought on sale for 10p each, and some more button jewellery too. We'll see how that goes......

Anyway off to work for me, there will be some pictures and crafts posted tomorrow. xxx

In March.....

• Make and send your Mothers day cards. Try a bunch of homemade paper daffodils as a unique gift.
• Brighten up your look for spring with some handmade jewellery. Try pretty pastels for a beautiful spring look.
• Start packing away your thick wooly jumpers and unpacking your summer dresses.
• Visit the Hobby crafts show in Birmingham 21-28. (Advanced tickets are £8.50.)
• Get ready for Easter by crafting Easter cards, decoration and gifts.

In February.....

• Make and send your Valentines day cards and gifts. This year why not try a homemade photoframe or mini book for your loved one.
• Chase away the Winter blues by crafting with bright florals and bold patterns.
• Liven up your wardrobe ready for spring with a handmade corsage on your coat. (Sunny colours will liven up your mood)
• Give up on your January diet and make some cupcakes.
• Visit Stamperama in Stevenage on the 28th for a fab craft fair. Perfect for real stamp lovers to find out all the stamping trends for 2010.

Stitch and Craft Show

Just a quick note to let everyone know about the Stitch and Craft show at Olympia 2, London on the 18-21 March. Dawn Bibby (my favourite celebrity crafter) will be doing live demonstartions on the Friday and Saturday and her birthday's Saturday too!!!. There will be a tea party for Dawn to celebrate her birthday but you have to book in advance. Inspiration Ideas!!!

We have all suffered drom Crafters Block at one point or another, and it's not always easy to overcome. So I've compiled a list of top tips to help for when inspiration eludes you.


1- Visit haberdashery stores, the different textures, colours and patterns of the fabrics is sure to inspire. (This can also be done online for those of us who are a little lazier)

2- Reread old craft magazines. Magazines that have been gathering dust for months are full of ideas you wanted to try but never got round to. (Also craft books)

3- Visit blogs online. You can adapt any project to suit your own requirements by changing the colours, patterns, etc.

4- Craft fairs and shows. There are always lots of new products and demos to inspire.

5- Go through your photo albumn. Pictures of friends, family, nature, special occaisons, trips away etc will give you ideas.

6-Flick through your paper stash. Sometimes just looking at the different papers in your collection will get your creative juices flowing.
